A $3.5 million dollar project consisting of a 22,000 sf one-story office building located in Voorhees, NJ. The project included all site work, utilities, paving, etc, and the construction of a new structural steel and masonry building. The building core and shell is LEED Gold Certified with such features as 25-460 feet deep Geo-thermal wells for heating and cooling, a 50KW solar panel system on the roof and electric car charging stations and underground storm water management system.
The building was designed and constructed so as to reduce or eliminate its negative environmental impact, including improving the operational practices of the tenants by using low-flow plumbing fixtures to manage water use and adding recycling areas for storage and collection of paper and plastic. The MEP engineer estimates that the building will use 38% less energy than similar buildings using current design and construction practices.
